TOWN OFFICE SERVICES AND OTHER INFORMATION

The Town Clerk's office is located on 9 Hyde  Road .

Office hours are Monday thru Friday 8:30PM to 3:30 as well as 5:00 to 7:00 Tuesday evening and 10:00AM to 12:00 on Saturday.

We observe the following Holidays:
New Years Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and Martin Luther King Birthday.

Land Records

The Town Clerk is responsible for the recording and maintenance of the land records, deeds and mortgages, property transfer returns reporting property sales, maps, tax records.

DOG LICENSES
 Fees:
Licensing of Dogs          $11.00
Spayed/ Neutered Dogs  $7.00
* Fee increase of 50% after April 1st

Dog Registration
Dogs six months of age or older must be registered by April 1 of each year by bringing the animal's latest rabies certificate and a spaying/neutering certificate to the Town Clerk's Office. The cost is $7 for neutered/spayed animals; $11 for non neutered/spayed dogs. Three dollars from each license fee goes to the State of Vermont . GRAND ISLE HAS A Dog Ordinance to see the dog ordinance. Bob Thompson is the Animal Control person 372-5860

 

TAXES
. There is a drop slot available for your convenience - if you would like a receipt, please not that on your envelope. We are also open Tuesday evenings from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. till 12:00 noon.
TAXES ARE PAYABLE
Oct 31  /  Jan 31st  /  April 30

The Town of Grand Isle Tax due dates have changed and the first payment
is not due until October 31.  We will be sending the tax bills out the week off September 10th.   The HS-122 State Payment letters have been mailed out and we suggest if you escrow your taxes and you are due a credit that you alert your mortgage company as soon as possible.  The credit will be divided and subtracted evenly over the three installments.
Interest is charged at 1% per month after the installment date
8% collection fee is charged after April 30  installment.

Notary Public Services

We currently have three notaries on staff; services are usually available during normal Business hours.

Motor Vehicle Registration renewals and accident reports etc.

We can renew your registration at the Grand Isle Town Office and obtain many state forms online by visiting http://www.aot.state.vt.us/dmv/

Vermont Hunting and Fishing Licenses

We do not issue hunting and fishing licenses but you can obtain information by visiting http://www.vtfishandwildlife.com.

Vital Records

The price of a Certified Record has gone from $7.00 to $9.50. We maintain records of Birth, Deaths, Marriage and Civil Union Licenses. Visit http://healthvermont.gov/research/records/obtain_record.aspx for more information on Vital Record.

 Voter Registration

Residents may apply to be added to the Grand Isle Voter List. Applicants should be prepared to produce some form of identification. CLICK HERE for more information on Vermont Elections and how to register to vote. (http://vermont_elections.org/elections1/voters.html)

The annual Town Meeting is held the second Monday of March at the Grand Isle Elementary School . Other elections, state and federal, are held either at the Grand Isle Town office usually in September or November. Check election information for date, time and place.
